How Custom-Quote Minecraft Hosting Works at Kerit Cloud
Why Kerit Cloud quotes Minecraft servers individually instead of selling fixed tiers, what's included with every server, and how to request a quote that fits.
On this page
Most Minecraft hosts sell fixed plans: pick “4 GB” or “8 GB” from a list and hope it fits. Kerit Cloud does it differently — every Minecraft server is custom-quoted based on what you’re actually running. This article explains why, what the process looks like, what every server includes and how to get an accurate quote quickly.
Why custom quotes instead of tiers
Minecraft servers vary enormously. Two servers with “20 players” can need completely different resources:
- a Paper survival server with a handful of plugins might run happily on 4 GB and two cores;
- a 250-mod “kitchen sink” modpack with the same player count might need 12 GB and fast cores just to stay at 20 TPS.
Fixed tiers force you to guess — and guessing wrong means either paying for resources you don’t use or fighting lag on a plan that’s too small. Quoting per server means CPU, RAM and storage are scoped to your version, player count and plugin or modpack load, not squeezed into a tier name.
Typical ranges
These are common ranges rather than hard limits:
| Resource | Typical range | What drives it |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | 1–8 cores | Plugin load, player count, modpack complexity |
| RAM | 2–32 GB | Modpack footprint, plugins, concurrent players |
| NVMe storage | 10–100 GB | World size, pre-generation, backup retention |
All servers run on high single-core-performance CPUs with NVMe storage — the two things that matter most for Minecraft’s tick rate and world loading.
How ordering works
Ordering happens on Discord, in four steps:
- Join the Discord. The Kerit Cloud community server is where ordering and support happen.
- Share your specs. Open a ticket with your Minecraft version, expected player count, region, plugins or modpack, and your budget.
- Get your quote. The team recommends CPU, RAM and storage for your server, and you approve the pricing.
- Deploy and play. Pay, and you get panel access immediately — your server is ready to go.
There’s no checkout cart and no fixed SKU list — just a short conversation to build the right server.
What every server includes
Full panel access
Everything you need to run the server yourself, without opening a ticket for routine tasks: a live console, a file manager, one-click restarts and control over your startup configuration.
Crash auto-restart
A watchdog on every node catches crashes and brings the server back before most players notice. You also get crash alerts on Discord, so you know something happened.
Daily automated backups
Your server is backed up every day. You can still take manual backups before big changes — see Minecraft server backups.
A free database
Every paid Minecraft server includes a MySQL or PostgreSQL database with daily backups, at no extra cost — ideal for LuckPerms, CoreProtect and other plugins that store data. See connecting Minecraft plugins to MySQL.
DDoS protection
Enterprise-grade mitigation sits in front of every server, covering Layer 3/4 floods and Layer 7 attacks, including Minecraft-specific filtering for handshake and bot-join floods. See protecting your Minecraft server from DDoS and bot attacks.
24/7 Discord support
Real people handling tickets — including help with plugins and modpacks. Staff can install and configure plugins or modpacks for you, or you can manage everything yourself.
Multiple regions
Servers are available in multiple regions, so players can connect close to home. Include your players’ location in your ticket — see choosing the best server region.
Supported software
Paper, Spigot, Purpur, Fabric, Forge, BungeeCord and Velocity, on Java Edition. If you’re not sure which to choose, say what kind of server you want and the team will recommend one. Background reading: Paper vs Spigot vs Purpur and Fabric vs Forge.
How to write a quote request that gets a fast, accurate answer
The more specific you are, the better the recommendation. A good ticket looks like this:
Minecraft version: 1.21 (Java)
Software: Paper
Players: ~15 usually, up to 30 at weekend events
Region: players mostly in India, a few in Singapore
Plugins: LuckPerms, EssentialsX, CoreProtect, GriefPrevention, DiscordSRV, BlueMap
World: new, planning a 5,000-block pre-generated border
Budget: around ₹___ per month
Other: would like help installing and configuring the plugins
For modpacks, include the pack name and exact version — resource needs vary a lot between packs. If you’re migrating an existing server, mention your current world size and any performance problems you’ve had.
Scaling up or down
Needs change: a server grows after a successful event, or quietens down after the holidays. Open a ticket at any time and the team adjusts your resources — and pricing — up or down to match. Because you’re not locked into a tier ladder, you pay for what your server actually needs.
Moving an existing server
If you’re coming from another host or from a home server, share your world size, software, plugins or modpack and any databases. You can upload your files through the panel or SFTP, and support can help with the move. Take a fresh backup before you start, and see updating your server to a new Minecraft version safely if you’re upgrading at the same time.
Frequently asked questions
Why can’t I just buy a plan online? Because the right size depends on what you’re running. A two-minute conversation avoids months on the wrong plan.
Do I have to use Discord? Yes — ordering, communication and support happen through the Kerit Cloud Discord.
Can you install my plugins or modpack? Yes. Staff can install and configure them, or hand you full panel access if you’d rather do it yourself.
Is the database really included? Yes — a MySQL or PostgreSQL database with daily backups comes free with every paid Minecraft server. See database hosting for details.
Summary
Kerit Cloud quotes each Minecraft server individually, so CPU (typically 1–8 cores), RAM (2–32 GB) and NVMe storage (10–100 GB) fit your version, players and plugin or modpack load. Order through a Discord ticket with your specs, approve the quote, and get panel access immediately. Every server includes crash auto-restart with Discord alerts, daily backups, a free MySQL or PostgreSQL database, DDoS protection, multiple regions and 24/7 support — and you can scale up or down with a ticket whenever your needs change.
