Features

Everything requirements.txt does

Point it at your code or pick from the catalog — either way you get a tidy, versioned file in seconds.

Reads your imports

Drop in .py or Jupyter .ipynb files and it parses every import and from … import, maps them to the right PyPI package, and skips the standard library.

Smart name mapping

Knows the tricky cases — import discord → discord.py, cv2 → opencv-python, PIL → Pillow, bs4 → beautifulsoup4 and many more.

Version pinning

Toggle pinning to emit package==1.2.3 for known libraries, so your builds are reproducible. Turn it off for loose, latest-version installs.

Private by design

Your files are read locally in the browser and never uploaded, so it is safe to scan proprietary code.

How to use

From source to requirements.txt

1

Upload your files — drag your project's .py or .ipynb files onto the drop zone, or click to browse. You can add several at once.

2

Review the detections — matching packages are ticked automatically and any extras are added. Add or remove libraries from the catalog as needed.

3

Copy the file — hit copy and paste it into your project's requirements.txt, then run pip install -r requirements.txt.

FAQ

Questions & answers

Everything you might wonder about this tool.

01How does it know which packages my code needs?
It scans each file for import statements, takes the top-level module name, drops anything in the Python standard library, and maps the rest to their PyPI package names using a built-in table of common libraries.
02Can it read Jupyter notebooks?
Yes. Upload a .ipynb file and it extracts the code cells before scanning them for imports.
03Why is an import mapped to a different package name?
Many libraries install under a different name than you import — for example you write import yaml but install PyYAML. The generator handles these common mismatches for you.
04Is any of my data uploaded to a server?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript — your input never leaves your device, so it is safe to use with private tokens, config and source code.
05Is it free, and do I need an account?
Yes, it is completely free with no signup, no install and no usage limits. Open the page and it works instantly on desktop or mobile.
